How many Devil Fruit types are there?

Three: Paramecia, Zoan and Logia. The Devil Fruit guide explains what each one does to the body and which famous fruits belong where.

Who are the Straw Hat Pirates?

Luffy's crew — ten of them by the latest arc, from the swordsman Zoro to the shipwright Franky. The crew guide lists every role and when each joined.

Do I need to read the guides to play?

No. The games stand on their own; the guides are for the parts you want to learn before trying again.
